Colson Kelly or Machine Gun Kelly is best known for the unique style of rap he employs. Baker was born April 22 1991 in Houston Texas U.S. into an extended family with English Scottish and German descent. Both of his parents were missionaries. in his early years, Baker traveled extensively with them. James Colson Baker, his father, struggled with depression and unemployment. The mother of his son Sonia Alane had left him as he was nine. Baker and his father relocated to Denver and lived in the home of his dad's aunt. Baker's lack of resources was a reason for the bullying of children around him. When he was in sixth grade, he began to listen to hip-hop. Colson Kelly was born Machine Gun Kelly on April 22nd, 1989 in Texas. The music he creates is a blend of contemporary hip-hop and alternative, as well as rock. Baker has recorded four mixtapes during the period between 2007-2010, prior to signing with Bad Boy Records.
